Cacao Ceremony, Sound bath and Tuning Forks Session

This is a new collaboration of two locally based holistic wellbeing professionals and cacao lovers - Trudi, an acupuncturist, sound healer and herbalist, and Radha, a meditation and yoga teacher and an experienced cacao practitioner. In this ceremony we'll be combining cacao's magical ability to connect us deeply to who we truly are with the beautiful sounds of singing bowls and goblets, and with the nourishing vibration of Acutonics tuning forks.

~ CACAO CEREMONY and GUIDED MEDITATION The tradition of drinking ceremonial cacao originates in the ancient culture of the Mayas in Central America, who called it "ku-ku", "above sacred". It was believed to carry the spirit of Fertility and Abundance. The Goddess of chocolate, Ixcacao, was also known as the "Queen of Love and Pleasure". Cacao is among the top most nutritious and cleansing foods, used for centuries to heal, to open the heart and the senses and to establish a deeper connection to the soul. The benefits of drinking pure ceremonial grade cacao include mood enhancing, increased energy and ease, improved focus and concentration, an overall feeling of calm and wellbeing and many many more!

~ SOUND HEALING and TUNING FORK Originally invented to create a pure tone to which musicians could tune their instruments, tuning forks have become, in last 4 decades, important tools in medicine and alternative therapies. Because they eliminate their own overtones within a few seconds of striking, the pure resulting sound waves are rapidly transmitted throughout the nervous system and entire body with just a few applications. Tuning fork frequencies are effective tools for use in Sound healing, and can be used in conjunction with other instruments such as singing bowls. Tuning forks emit pure sounds that are represented as pure sine waves, without any harmonics. We are all vibration, and when these tuning forks are held in different positions on the body, it gifts our body information, calming our nervous system, releasing tension, returning us to a place of balance and ease.

Trudi Collins is an experienced acupuncturist, herbalist and sound healer. She has built up a wealth of experience across 20+ years of clinical practice and delights in sharing her knowledge with those she treats. Trudi's special talent is to create a feeling of possibility, helping us to understand what we need, and from there knowing that we can move forwards with ease and grace. There is such an overwhelming abundance of health information we're exposed to right now it can be hard to understand what will work for us. Trudi always aims for people to instead feel "whelmed" with information that is relevant, and with simple tools to add into our daily lives so that we can find joy in each moment.

Radha was among the first people to bring cacao ceremonies to New Zealand. She encountered the cacao plant in ceremonial context in 2012 while living in its native lands of Central America for several years. It was love at first sight and her relationship with the spirit of this super food grew as she learned how to prepare the rich cacao drink from the tree to the cup. Having participated in various ceremonies facilitated by shamans, healers or friends in Mexico, Guatemala and Peru, Radha started facilitating ceremonies herself in 2014 in Europe. An experienced space holder being a yoga teacher and a retreat facilitator, she loves sharing her passion for community, authenticity and self-knowledge in combination with the cacao spirit. Radha serves only best quality ceremonial cacao by chocolate shaman Keith Wilson.
